The Bolt Catch and Bolt Release upgrade for the WK180C, RWA Nodak AR180B. People said it couldn’t be done, so we did it…because you’re not the boss of me!

Great upgrade. RWA’s install video recommends installing the catch with a horizontal resting position, but I “clocked” mine one position counter-clockwise for one-thumb operation of the safety and the bolt catch release. This is a must for any WK.

Works well, takes time to work in. empty magazines were an issue being stiff at first but it gets better with time. I tested it out by using a quarter ti block the magazine and it seems to fly free easily enough. I tried to set it up in a way that yo can use one hand but I personally can’t seem to do it BUT it does work well dropping the mag, pop your new one and use your left hand in one motion it seems to work well. IF ANYONE KNOWS HOW TO SET IT UP SO YOU ONLY NEED YOU SHOOTING HAND LET ME KNOW !!!!!

Work well sometimes. If you put a new loaded mag or no mags and you pull back on the charging handle the bolt will not go forward to close the action. The bolt release is a bit too thick.
So I find that where the E-clip goes into the lever pin inside the lower receiver that can create more tension on the bolt release making it more stiff and by doing so when you shoot your wk180c and you reload a new mag and you go to pull the charging handle if you decide to do that the bolt release will not go down and release the bolt forward.
So having bolt release a bit thinner so there is not a lot of tension between the lever pin and the bolt release can help. If not maybe the safety spring that has more tension on it can help make the bolt release go down if you decide to pull back on the charging handle.
That’s my most honest review on this bolt release system if you decide to move the charging handle pin to the right side if you like to have a type of ambidextrous type of bolt release on your wk180c with the lever pin on the left side and the charging handle on the right side.
Other the that I like the upgraded system and it’s worth getting if your like me and want to make a ambidextrous type of bolt release system.

I quite happily own the Spectre Ltd. WS-MCR (with Galil-style folding stock) and both 5.56/.223 and 7.62×39 uppers. I ordered this bolt catch & release kit after doing some research and I couldn’t be happier with it. It was delivered quickly and it was packed well. It took less than 5 minutes to install and I only needed a flathead screwdriver – no table vise or anything. The first E-clip I used warped and I’ll take the blame for that. But guess what? Who cares! There was a second E-clip included just for special people like me – and it clicked into place just fine. I installed the lever as vertical as possible too so I could use my thumb to hit it and I couldn’t be happier with it. This was a purchase I’m glad I made. I highly recommend this upgrade.

Well machined with a nice finish. However it required removal of material from the side of the internal part to allow it to freely move when installed. It would only engage with significant force on the external lever, and not at all on its own on an empty mag. This was on a WS MCR. Great build and design, but the internal piece needs to be at least a few thou of an inch thinner to ensure function on all rifles.

Received this item today, and after fitting the catch to my WS-MCR it works perfectly, quality piece of kit to replace the poorly made original.
